LFP Statement, 3 June 2021

At its general meeting of 3 June 2021, the French Professional Football League (LFP) adopted, by a majority of 97.28% of the votes, a new format of 18 clubs in Ligue 1 from the beginning of the 2023-2024 season (and not 20 clubs as at present).

Upcoming format change

 

At the end of the 2022-2023 season, the format change will be carried out by relegating four clubs from Ligue 1...
