By decision dated 3 March 2025, the Swiss Federal Tribunal (SFT) dismissed a civil law appeal lodged by a vice-president of a national football federation (Appellant) against an arbitral award rendered by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on 4 December 2024.[1]
The Appellant’s appeal before CAS resulted from a decision passed by the Adjudicatory Chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee (Adjudicatory Chamber) sanctioning him with a lifetime ban from all football-related activities - confirmed by CAS - and a fine of CHF 100,000 - reduced to CHF 35,000 by CAS (approx. EUR 108,000 and EUR 37,700) - for sexual harassment and abuse of power against female referees.
