The player Vlachodimos' non-competition clause and dual nationality

The player Panagiotis Vlachodimos was registered with both Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, two clubs affiliated to the Hellenic Football Federation. As a Greek national, the FIFA DRC concluded that the case in question comes under the jurisdiction of the football association in the country concerned (i.e. Greece), as a result of which FIFA could not intervene due to a lack of jurisdiction over the matter.

The Greek football player, Panagiotis Vlachodimos requested to terminated his contract with Olympiacos FC in order to continue his career abroad. Since such termination occurred upon the player’s request and taking into consideration that Olympiacos spent an important amount of money in order to acquire Mr Vlachodimos’ registration and to pay his salaries, the parties agreed to include...
