Spanish Police Raids RFEF Headquarters

On 21 March 2024, the Spanish Guardia Civil announced a criminal operation affecting current and former Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) officials, including former President Luis Rubiales. The primary source of conflict lies in the contract adjudication process for the Spanish Super Cup for the years 2020 to 2024.

The Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Spanish Guardia Civil has conducted a search of the RFEF headquarters in an investigation related to alleged irregular contracts signed in the last five years.

As part of this operation, UCO agents searched 11 homes and continued to search others. This has resulted in arrests in several Spanish provinces on 21 March 2024. Among the homes searched is that of Mr. Luis Rubiales, former RFEF President in Granada.
