Club sanctions introduced in Italian professional leagues

FIGC introduced a new paragraph 10 of Article 12 of the FIGC code of sports justice, according to which that, starting from season 2018-2019, all professional clubs shall adopt a club’s sanctions policy; fines will be imposed on clubs who do not adopt the system or fail to apply the sanctions to supporters who infringe the club’s code of conduct.

In the summer of 2017, the Italian Football Association (FIGC), together with the Italian professional football leagues, entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Interiors and the Ministry of Sport to implement a new model of “football events management with respect to safety and security”, with the aim to promote the “social dimension of football”.
