Recently, the Football Union of Russia introduced the revised version of the FUR Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, which was written after the federation faced legal problems that were then widely criticized. The new version of the Regulations came into force on 1 May 2018.

The Russian Union of Russia (FUR) systematically works on improving its regulations, especially the most important ones – i.e. the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP).

Indeed, it seems that the Russian RSTP became a benchmark, since recently introduced amendments to the FIFA RSTP (see FIFA Circular Letter no. 1625 dated 26 April 2018) have borrowed many provisions that had been implemented in the Russian RSTP...
