On 18 July 2024, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rendered its award in the case involving Karpaty FC, FIFA, Cristóbal Márquez Crespo (Crespo) and FC Karpaty Halych. The Panel dismissed Karpaty FC's appeal, affirming that it is the sporting successor of the original Karpaty Lviv football club and is therefore liable for the financial obligations arising from a prior CAS award to the player Crespo. Additionally, the Panel ruled that FIFA's Disciplinary Committee did not violate Karpaty FC's procedural rights, and FC Karpaty Halych had standing to be sued in the proceedings.
