CAS Overturns CAF Decision on Samuel Eto’o’s Eligibility


On 7 March 2025, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld an appeal filed by Mr. Samuel Eto’o Fils, President of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), regarding his exclusion as a candidate for the African Football Confederation (CAF). 

On 24 and 25 January 2025, the CAF Governance Committee Review Sub-Committee deemed Mr. Eto’o ineligible and subsequently excluded him from the list of candidates for election at the CAF Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting scheduled for 12 March 2025. FECAFOOT and Mr....
