In this award, the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the appeal of AZ Alkmaar against UEFA’s decision to impose a EUR 40,000 fine for alleged failures to maintain order and security during a match against Legia Warszawa. The Panel found that the Dutch club had not acted negligently and had complied with UEFA’s safety and cooperation obligations. The disciplinary decision was entirely annulled.
