CAS 2023/A/10032 Wolverhampton Wanderers FC v. FIFA

Date of the decision: 2025-06-19
Arbitrator(s): Francesco Macri Manfred Peter Nan Philippe Sands K.C.

The Panel found that the new intermediary requirements introduced by FIFA, specifically Article 5.3 of the FIFA Football Agent Regulations (FFAR), were incompatible with Swiss Law and FIFA’s own statutory framework. The provision was annulled inter partes, allowing Wolverhampton Wanderers FC to continue using its preferred domestic intermediaries without having to appoint a FIFA-licensed agent.
