On 9 July 2025, former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was sentenced to one year in prison for a financial offense against the Spanish Public Treasury (Hacienda) relating to the 2014 fiscal year. He has, however, been acquitted of a similar accusation relating to the 2015 fiscal year. A copy of the original Court decision is attached to this article.
The Madrid Provincial Court, specifically Section 30, imposed the minimum penalty permitted by law for the fraud committed in 2014, which includes a fine amounting to EUR 386,361, alongside the prohibition of obtaining public aid or subsidies and the suspension of tax or social security benefits for three years since the decision’s imposition.
