The FIFA Legal Portal is a mandatory tool for football stakeholders. Accordingly, as of 1 May 2025, following FIFA’s announcement that all FIFA Football Tribunal proceedings would be conducted exclusively through the FIFA Legal Portal, if a party fails to fulfill this procedural requirement, under the principle of ignorantia non excusat, their claim may be deemed inadmissible or the proceedings may be terminated.

Facts and Procedure

 

On 17 March 2022, Mr. Bongani Mafu (Coach) and Ngezi FC (Club) entered into an employment contract (the Employment Contract), which was valid from 20 March 2022 to 31 December 2026.

On 25 July 2022, the Club unilaterally terminated the Contract with the coach due to the alleged failure to meet the performance objectives stipulated under the Contract.
